Glass facades, Sandton

Glass facade cleaning in Sandton.

Sandton towers are glass boxes in a traffic corridor: the facade either reads clean from the street or it does not. SKAI cleans curtain wall glass and framing from the air, between business hours.

Curtain wall, framing and spandrels

Glass, aluminium framing and coated spandrel panels each react differently to pressure and chemistry. The setting is chosen per elevation rather than run at one pressure around the building.

Film that comes back in weeks

Diesel and brake dust from the surrounding roads re-bond to glass quickly. Towers in this precinct generally settle into a repeating cycle instead of a one-off deep clean.

No cradles over the entrance

Cradle systems need roof rigging, permits and a closed pavement. Drone access works elevation by elevation with the flight plan agreed with facilities management.

Security and access

Rooftop plant, antennas and restricted floors are mapped before the operation. No footage of tenants or interiors is published without written consent.

Questions

Common questions.

01Can a glass tower be cleaned during working hours?

Phases can run alongside business hours where the flight plan and drop zones allow it, or early and late where the building prefers.

02How does it compare with a BMU or cradle?

For regular cleaning of large glass areas, drone access usually removes setup time and disruption. Where hand detailing is needed, cradles or rope access remain the better tool.

03Do you clean the inside of the glass?

No. The scope is the exterior surface exposed to weather and traffic.

04How quickly can a tower be quoted?

After the site visit and inspection flight, with a condition report and a price for the agreed scope.
